Gutter Cleaning & Brightening in Southern Indiana

Clogged gutters wreck fascia, flood beds, and back water under shingles. We clean them out — and we remove the black 'tiger stripes' from the outside faces, too.

Gutters do their job invisibly until they don't. When they clog with leaves, seed pods, and shingle grit — which happens fast under the mature trees that shade so many southern Indiana properties — water goes everywhere it shouldn't: over the edge into your flower beds, behind the fascia boards, down the siding, and along the foundation. Most of the rotten fascia and stained siding we see traces straight back to gutters that sat full for a season too long.

We offer two distinct gutter services, separately or together:

1. Gutter Clean-Out (the inside)

We hand-clear and flush the gutter troughs, clear the downspouts until they run free, and bag and haul the debris — no shoveling gutter sludge onto your lawn and calling it done. We'll also flag anything we see up there that needs attention: pulled spikes, sagging runs, seams that drip. Twice a year (late spring and after leaf-drop) is the right rhythm for most homes around here; homes under heavy tree cover sometimes need a third pass.

2. Gutter Brightening (the outside)

Those stubborn black streaks on the outside face of gutters — "tiger stripes" — are electrostatically bonded grime mixed with oxidation, and no amount of pressure alone removes them. Brightening is a dedicated scrub with a gutter-specific cleaner that dissolves the bond and restores the original white. It's the detail that makes a freshly washed house look finished instead of almost-finished, and it's one of our most-added services once people see the difference on one section.

Pricing

Clean-outs on most single-story homes run $100–$200 and two-story homes $150–$300, driven by linear footage and how full the gutters are. Brightening is priced by linear foot and usually adds $75–$200. Both bundle naturally with a house wash or roof soft wash — see the cost guide for how bundling changes the math.

Questions

Gutter Cleaning & Brightening FAQs

How often should gutters be cleaned in southern Indiana?
Twice a year for most homes — late spring and after the leaves finish dropping. Houses under heavy tree canopy often need a third visit. If water is sheeting over the edge in rain, it's overdue.
What are the black streaks on my gutters and why won't they wash off?
Tiger striping — grime and oxidation electrostatically bonded to the aluminum. Pressure and house-wash detergent won't touch it; it takes a dedicated brightening scrub with the right cleaner. That's the 'brightening' half of this service.
Do you haul away the gutter debris?
Yes. Debris is bagged and hauled, downspouts are flushed until they run clear, and we don't leave sludge piles in your landscaping.
Can you fix sagging or leaking gutters?
We're a cleaning company, not a gutter installer — but we'll photograph and flag any pulled hangers, bad seams, or slope problems we find so you know exactly what to have repaired.
What does gutter cleaning cost?
Most single-story clean-outs run $100–$200, two-story $150–$300, and brightening adds $75–$200 by footage. Text your address and a photo to (812) 329-4733 for a firm number.
